ENSEIRB-MATMECA 2021 Ingénib Forum

Novelis meets the future engineers of the digital world!

On Thursday, October 14, 2021, the Ingénib forum will take place at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Electronique, Informatique, Télécommunications, Mathématique et Mécanique de Bordeaux. This year, it will be held in a special format, as it will be a hybrid event, offering participants the opportunity to exchange ideas both in person and virtually.

As a partner of the event, Novelis will come to the school to propose to the students 2 offers of end of studies internships / pre-employment:

  • Design and development engineer
Our research and development engineers are required to work on the implementation of new business functionalities on the products marketed by Novelis.
  • R&D / Innovation Engineer
Our R&D / Innovation Engineers work in our R&D Laboratory on our “Smart-programming” research program. The objective of the program is to automatically and intelligently transform a document in human language, such as specifications, into a final Web application ready to go into production.

100 participating companies, 1400 student-engineers, 6 high-level specialist engineering courses:

  • Electronics
  • Computer science
  • Embedded electronic systems (work-study program)
  • Mathematical and mechanical modeling
  • Telecommunications
  • Networks and information systems (work-study program)

“These topics are at the heart of societal issues and meet strong business demands: smart transportation, digital technologies for health and well-being, connected objects, artificial intelligence, cyber security, etc.”

Pierre Fabrie, Director of ENSEIRB-MATMECA

This hybrid format allows students to learn about the companies present at the forum beforehand and to propose appointments. For the companies, it allows them to have access to all the CVs of the students present on the day, even after the event.

A few words on the main principles of the training courses offered at Enseirb Matmeca

  • To allow all students to have access to training in accordance with the reality of the market and turned towards innovation
  • To leave a large place to the autonomy of each student and to team work
  • To be open to the international scene and to prepare for the business world

The evolution perspectives at Novelis

This forum is an opportunity for us to meet students, to offer them our internships and to present them our know-how through a conference about Artificial Developer. This conference will be animated by Mehdi Nafe – CEO of Novelis and former student of the school and El Hassane Ettifouri – CIO. They will also be accompanied by Linda Mefidene – HR Manager, present to talk about career opportunities at Novelis.

We have developed a broad pyramid of skills, with a level of excellence recognized in the market. The investments in training and the projects we have won allow Novelians to work on the most innovative technologies and to constantly improve their knowledge.

Thus, we offer various certification training courses (Blue Prism, ABBYY FlexiCapture, scrum…) throughout the year to increase the skills of all our employees.

As part of the Design and Development Engineer internship, you will be able to gain skills in architecture and technical expertise and be accompanied by experienced technical managers. Do you want to become a technical expert, technical project manager or project director? We offer you personalized support in your career development.

As part of the R&D / Innovation Engineer internship, you will work on innovation topics around Smart Automation (AI and OCR coupling). By working on concrete customer projects, you will have the opportunity to have a real impact and even publish your work in a scientific file. You will be able to increase your skills in Machine Learning and data analysis and become a Data Scientist or Lead Data Scientist.

Speed-meeting with ESGI students – work study program

This Thursday, September 16, 2021, will be the 4th and last 100% digital speed-meeting of the year for ESGI, the leading school for computer engineering.

For the first time this year, Novelis will be partnering the event to offer students support in their training through two IT work-study courses:

  • Design and development engineer
Our design and development engineers are required to work on the implementation of new business functionalities on the products marketed by Novelis.
  • R&D / Innovation Engineer
Our R&D / Innovation Engineers work in our R&D Laboratory on our “Smart-programming” research program. The objective of the program is to automatically and smartly transform a document in human language, such as specifications, into a final Web application ready to go into production.

The ESGI 2021 speed-meeting was attended by 45 companies, 70 work-study offers and 350 participants for all 9 specialization streams.

“The speed meeting is a great event for both students and companies. It is an opportunity for them to transform opportunities into a work-study program with one of our partner companies. They appreciate this type of session because it confronts them with what can be done in the world of work, but also the organization of the Corporate Relations Officers to coordinate everything. These days are a win-win situation for both students and companies.”

Mickaël Zamord – Corporate Relations Officer and Head of the Artificial Intelligence and Big Data stream at ESGI.

During this half-day event, Amine Bentahir (Head of Growth & Development) and Walid Dahhane (CTO) will be present to meet with engineering students from the different streams.

The objective is to exchange with these future IT geniuses and to share with them the different opportunities we offer within the company. This speed-meeting format with express interviews in 15 minutes allows students to get past the CV barrier and to quickly expose their skills and know-how.

A few words about the school

ESGI prepares its students for all IT professions through its 9 specializations:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Big Data
  • Computer security
  • Systems, networks and cloud computing
  • Management and consulting in information systems
  • Software architecture
  • Mobility and connected objects
  • Web, blockchain, 3D & video game engineering

ESGI’s company relations department assists students on a daily basis in their search for a work-study program and in their professional development. This is an important and dear element to Novelis because we are committed to developing the skills of the students we take on.

We have developed a broad pyramid of skills, with a level of excellence recognized on the market. We offer various certification courses (Appache Kafka, ABBYY FlexiCapture, scrum…) to help all our employees improve their skills.

We make sure to accompany our students in their evolution on subjects around architecture, technical expertise, Machine Learning and data analysis alongside experienced technical managers. We offer them the opportunity to work on customer projects to enable them to put into practice the knowledge they have acquired in the field.

And that’s not the only thing we have in common with ESGI. The school is also equipped with numerous laboratories and is built on a very close relationship with the business world. We also have our own internal research laboratory, in partnership with the Ecole Polytechnique de Paris, where our PhDs are currently working on fundamental research on AI and NLP.
