The Perspectives forum: Ecole Centrale de Lyon and Les Mines de Saint-Etienne

It is on November 30th at the Lyon Convention Center that our teams will participate in the 16th edition of the Perspectives Forum of the Ecole Centrale de Lyon and the Mines de Saint-Etienne. This year the forum will be held in hybrid mode with a virtual part on December 2nd.

Each year the forum brings together more than 120 companies and 2000 students from the Lyon region in order to open a channel of exchange between them and to allow the students to affirm their career desires by discovering the companies’ jobs.

For the first time this year, Novelis will be a partner of the event and will offer to accompany the students in their training through exchanges and interviews:

• Engineer in design, software development and IS architectures

Our design and development engineers are involved in the implementation of new business functionalities on the products marketed by Novelis.

As part of this internship, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in architecture and technical expertise and be supported by experienced technical managers. • R&D Engineer in Artificial Intelligence and NLP

Our R&D / Innovation Engineers work in our R&D Laboratory on our “Smart-programming” research program. The objective of the program is to automatically and intelligently transform a document in human language, such as specifications, into a final Web application ready for production.

You will work on innovation topics around Smart Automation (coupling AI and OCR) and on concrete customer projects. You will have the opportunity to have a real impact and even publish your work in a scientific file. You will be able to increase your skills in Machine Learning and data analysis and become a Data Scientist or Lead Data Scientist.

• Cognitive automation engineer

Our Cognitive Automation Engineers work alongside our AI and automation experts on real customer projects to, for example: identify and select processes to be automated; contribute to the development of identified processes with RPA and OCR tools (Blue Prism, UiPath, Automation Anywhere…).

A few words about the schools :

• École Centrale de Lyon: The school trains tomorrow’s managers, general engineers, work-study students or PhDs, with a scientific, human and international outlook.
• Les Mines de Saint-Etienne: The school’s training strategy is designed to be consistent with its other missions, which are research, support for economic development and dialogue between science, industry and society.

During this half-day, Andrea Pothuon (Recruitment manager) and Georges Abou Haidar (Project Manager) will be present to meet the engineering students from the different streams.
